Uprise Movement LLC is a transitional housing company dedicated to providing safe, supportive, and empowering housing solutions to individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness and into self-sufficiency.

Our mission is to empower individuals to awaken their potential, achieve independence, and reintegrate successfully into their communities.

We believe housing is just the first step. That’s why our programs focus on a holistic approach—integrating housing with supportive services, life skill development, and strong community connections. By addressing the root causes and providing wrap-around support, we strive to break cycles of homelessness and create lasting change.

Our Story

Uprise Movement began with a single act of kindness. Our founder, Latera Thomas, once helped a neighbor rebuild their life after losing a job, a home, and battling addiction. That experience revealed how easily someone could fall through the cracks—and how critical a stable, temporary roof is to rebuilding.

Latera realized what people need most is not just a handout, but a hand up. From this, Uprise Movement was born. The word “Movement” was chosen intentionally—it’s more than a business, it’s a collective push forward, empowering individuals to rise above their circumstances and build brighter futures.
